Five local bands are part of the Rock Imperium lineup, including Ángel Negro and Vatican Spectrum performing this Saturday

Rockers and metalheads fill Cartagena for five days with Rock Imperium, arriving in search of vibrating in this third edition with great bands such as the metal gods Judas Priest, Avantasia, Saxon Warlock or Glen Hughes. Around 50,000 people will enjoy the festival until Saturday, June 22. This is leading to a large influx of tourists in the city, with full hotels, a good atmosphere in the streets and endless cowgirls and long hair in the bars and shops of the historic center.
In addition, the Rock Imperium audience is also having the opportunity to visit the museums of Cartagena Puerto de Culturas, thanks to the promotion of 2-for-1 tickets for those who have access to the festival. Since Wednesday, when the festival started, it has been common to see these rockers and metalheads visiting the Roman Theater Museum, the Augusteum or the Roman Forum Quarter. They can also be seen in the streets of the historic center, in places such as the Icue or the Arsenal gate.
Next to the military building, in the Plaza del Rey, is the epicenter of the parallel activities that the festival has launched for the first time this edition: 'Side Rock Imperium'. This Friday, June 21, at noon, the live performance of the Cartagena band Scarecrow Avenue was held, who presented the songs from their new work, titled 'Camino, Verdad y Vida'. This Saturday, June 22, the Cartagena-based Ángel Negro will also perform at 12:30 p.m. in Plaza del Rey, who will also present their latest work, 'The Awakening'.
And Rock Imperium is also being a showcase for rock and metal bands from Cartagena. The Cartagena band Archetype of Disorder and Lonely Fire performed yesterday afternoon at the Cuesta del Batel venue. While on Saturday it will be the turn of Vatican Spectrum, also from Cartagena, at 2:40 p.m. They will perform on the Murcia Region Festivals stage.
The parallel programming is also complemented by Shane Embury, bassist of the iconic grindcore band Napalm Death. He will present his book 'Life...? And Napalm Death' this Saturday at 10am at the Roman Theater Museum.
